This stop-smoking site aims to provide inspirational information and articles from experts in their field to inspire and motivate you to give up smoking cigarettes or tobacco forever. When your motivation is really working you can do anything you want to! Yes, even give up smoking!!

Quit smoking is a big decision. Whenever there is something to be done, we either decide to do it, to put it off, or not do it at all. The deciding factor may be whether we are interested or engaged in the outcome. If we are and the reward is pleasurable, we may decide to do the thing right away. If there is no great interest in the outcome then we probably won't bother unless it is to avoid pain.

This is what motivation is about.

The site will show you lots of ways to get motivated, but the result depends on you! So get some help to give up smoking! You know it makes sense for your health's sake.

You can read my real-life quit smoking story on the next page.

If you are looking to get help to give up or quit smoking then you need to take the time out of your life to get advice from the right people, the people that know what works and what doesn’t. You need to take time out of your life to speak to a doctor, pharmacist or even a hypnotherapist or at least a person who has been successful at giving up smoking to help you give up and quit smoking. With the expertise of someone who has succeeded and the medical health advice to make sure you aren’t harming your body even more, you will be on the right track in no time.

When you go to see a doctor, pharmacist or a hypnotherapist to get help to give up smoking you need to have a few questions ready to ask. Ask them if they know any tricks or medications that can help you give up, remember, they see people with this concern all the time so they should know a few things to pass on to you. They will probably mention things such as acupuncture or chewing gum or those nicotine patches. Some of these wil work for some people so take note. Be careful, though, the acupuncture or gum or patches can turn into a crutch that you get stuck with.

Worse still it can be an excuse to not give up: "those nicotine patches don't work, I'll never give up" or "acupuncture let me down it's just a fad" if you think like this it is because you are not taking responsibility yourself, but blaming something else.

Also ask the doctor, pharmacist or hypnotherapist if they know what to expect during the withdrawal period of the process. These things will help you give up smoking in a much more stress-free manner to if you relay them correctly to the doctor, pharmacist or even a hypnotherapist.

You’ve consulted a doctor, pharmacist or even a hypnotherapist for help to give up and quit smoking for good, but what do you ask someone who has been successful at giving up smoking? Ask them why they wanted to give up smoking in the first place and what types of things that they did that did and didn’t work in helping the overall process.

Ask them what were the most difficult times in the process of giving up smoking, for themselves and those around them; do they still miss the pleasure of a cigarette or does the pleasure of knowing that you can help someone give up smoking make up for it?
